Ric grew up in the small Texas town of Pleasanton. After graduation, Ric joined the Army serving as a Bravo team leader at 1st Battalion 8th Infantry Regiment with 1 deployment to Iraq. While in service, Ric had the honor of earning five Army Achievement Medals and the prestigious Expert Infantry Badge. Upon completion of service, and a few theatre productions in San Antonio, he decided to move to Austin. While working as an extra on "The Alamo," he was inspired by Patrick Wilson and Billy Bob Thornton to go to New York and train seriously. He then auditioned and was accepted to The Stella Adler Studios. While in the conservatory, Ric was so fortunate as to train with legendaries such as: Frank Langella, Earle Gister, Alfred Molina, and Zoe Caldwell. When he graduated from the conservatory, Ric returned to Austin to continue his career. After landing a role in Stop-Loss, Ric decided to head to L.A where he now resides. Ric has been busy since then. Ric loves to surf, dirt bike, and train horses in his spare time.

Favorite Shakespearean roles he played in acting school include: Hamlet, Macbeth, Iago, Romeo, and Touchstone.Favorite Contemporary theatre roles: Eddie (Fool for Love), Lee (True West), Vince (Buried Child), Stanley (A Streetcar Named Desire).He plays acoustic guitar and studies the piano and violin.His favorite Beethoven piano piece is "Moonlight Sonata"Ric is a co-founder of Apaloosa Theatre Company in New York.
